Award-winning Producer

Annie Lees-Jones is an award-winning British producer and the founder of Well Made Films, a bold and collaborative independent film and television production company dedicated to bridging the gap between recognition and real opportunity for emerging creative talent.

In just two years, Annie has built the company from the ground up, producing over nine short films and establishing a full development slate of bold, original projects. She is currently working with a growing list of notable talent, including BBC director Ian Aryeh, leading UK casting director Jessica Mescall, and multiple award-winning on-screen performers. She is also championing the first-time feature films of directors emerging from prestigious programs such as Directors Inspire UK and supporting scriptwriters with prize-winning screenplays who deserve the platform to make their work.

Annie’s impact is already being widely recognised on the international festival circuit, with her projects earning over 24 official selections at BAFTA, BIFA, and Oscar-qualifying festivals. She has received the Audience Choice Award at the BFI London Film Festival (2024) and Best Comedy Short at Flickers’ Rhode Island, and she was a Centerframe ‘Get It Made’ competition winner with Like Buses, starring Marsha Miller and Cora Kirk. Notably, she was attached to three out of the five finalist projects — another as runner-up — highlighting her eye for talent and readiness to lead projects from script to screen.

In 2025, Annie was selected for the Film London New Talent Strand and will attend the Production Finance Market (PFM) with her debut feature Two Minutes, developed in collaboration with award-winning writer and director Jamie Benyon. She is currently developing four feature films—including one through the Elstree Studios Propeller Programme and a UK-Italy co-production —as well as a television series, and is attached to several standout, as-yet-undisclosed projects.

Luck is what happens when opportunity meets preparation. Understanding that true success comes from relentless dedication, honing one’s craft, and being ready to step through the door when it opens."

Alongside her production work, Annie also freelances as a creative producer and consultant, supporting other filmmakers with project packaging, including pitch decks, business plans, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and legals — guiding projects from concept through to market readiness.

Her creative journey began in performance, winning Best Actress for her role in Tough Crowd, as Felix Follett, the funeral comedian. Her screen credits include roles in ITV’s My Phone Genie and the popular sitcom The T-Boy Show, where she played the memorable character Auntie Bola. She went on to enjoy a successful career as a stunt performer and fight director, including credits as Stunt Co-ordinator for the RSC and Fight Director for the Royal Opera House, equally skilled with a rapier or a rubber chicken. Post-pandemic, she returned to academia and achieved First-Class Honours and a Master’s with Distinction in just two years — solidifying her unique blend of artistic and strategic capability.

Through Well Made Films, Annie Lees-Jones is reshaping what meaningful support for emerging filmmakers looks like — producing content that combines artistic ambition with commercial appeal, and ensuring that success on paper leads to real-world progress on screen.

Annie is proudly well-made working class, and everything she has achieved is a testament to her drive, ambition, perseverance, and a refusal to give up. She has turned her hand to many roles—actor, stunt performer, coordinator, academic, and now producer—proving that versatility and grit can carve out a space in an often gate kept industry.

As a producer, Annie is fiercely loyal. She stands by her collaborators, works through challenges with tenacity, and never stops looking for solutions. Whether you're a new voice or an established talent, Annie will champion your vision, fight for your project, and bring relentless energy to getting made.
