Founded in 2023 by Annie Lees-Jones, Well Made Films is an independent production company committed to creating bold, original content that shines a spotlight on new talent. With a sharp focus on exceptional scripts, authenticity and a character­ driven approach to storytelling, our aim is to deliver content that stands out in a competitive global market. We partner with award-winning writers and directors who have made significant contributions through recognised programs like the Directors UK Inspire Scheme to take on projects that reflect both creative ambition and commercial potential. We’re thrilled to unveil a bold slate of projects that reflects a strategic investment in emerging voices and distinctive storytelling. Our current lineup includes a diverse mix of genre-spanning projects: from high-end comedies to emotionally grounded dramas, all selected for their artistic merit and market viability.

Annie Lees-Jones founded Well-Made Films to directly address the gap between recognition and real opportunity for emerging filmmakers. While countless awards are given to debut scripts and short films, too often the momentum ends there. Every major company runs its own slate, and funding bodies continue to advise attaching a large production house making it nearly impossible for fresh voices to break through. What’s the point of winning Best Feature Screenplay, Best Comedy Short, or an Audience Choice Award if those achievements don’t lead to actual production and career advancement? Well-Made Films exists to change that. We are committed to making those accolades matter by turning them into made films and meaningful opportunities.

​Well-Made Films aims to be the go-to company paving the way for empowering creative talent to take the next step in elevating their careers producing first-time feature films with both artistic integrity and commercial appeal. In our first year, we’ve made a strong impact on the festival circuit, proudly winning Audience Choice Award at the BFI London Film Festival 2024 and screening at the Best of British Awards alongside BAFTA-winner Quiet Life. Our projects continue to screen across BAFTA, BIFA, and Oscar-qualifying festivals with premieres in North America and Asia.

We genuinely care about filmmaking and aim to support and showcase the talent of new filmmakers as well as provide a service to assist with development through to post-production.
