Founded in 2023 by Annie Lees-Jones, Well Made Films is a collaborative independent film and television production company with a focus on telling bold, original stories that are both compelling and universal. Our content reflects our love for filmmaking, delivering high-quality content that resonates with audiences while paving the way for new writing and directing talent. The company is actively engaged in identifying exceptional talent, acknowledging award winning scripts and working with directors who have made significant contributions through recognised programs like the Directors Inspire UK Scheme and need that springboard to elevate their careers.

Annie Lees-Jones
Founder, Head of Development & Producer
Annie Lees-Jones is an award-winning British Comedy Actress and Producer. Earning distinction in two degrees, her unwavering passion for the art of storytelling has been the driving force behind her career.
Drawing on her expertise, she assembled a team of talented creatives who share her vision and dedication setting up Well Made Films in 2023. Working with both new and established talent they are united in their determination to create and produce high-quality shows that have gone on to be both BAFTA/BIFA and Oscar-qualifying, attracting viewers and leaving them wanting more. ​​

Carlos Tu
PMD
Carlos Tu is a producer of marketing and distribution; he has diverse expertise in both the marketing and film industries. A producer who is passionate, highly motivated, well-organised, and flexible can handle and oversee lengthy projects such as commercials, music videos, TV shows, and feature films.
Lu Costa
Development Assistant Intern
Lu's background as an executive producer's assistant in Brazil, specially in raising funds for projects (through grants, investors, and stakeholders) and designing release and distribution strategies, are a valuable asset to the team. With an interest in researching and exploring licensing opportunities Lu has acted as a crucial liaison among international production companies, managing logistics and production workflow for both scripted and non-scripted programs across tv, digital and streaming platforms. Lu assists in developing budgets, financing strategies, market plans and reports as well as negotiating contracts, ensuring project financial viability.

Jay Merritt
Supervising Producer
​Jay has extensive experience and knowledge of film and media production with a broad understanding of the current market and industry context. Jay is an efficiency-driven supervising producer responsible for overseeing filming operations, fulfilment of location filming, transport logistics, health and safety, and HR.
Supervises all crew and/or one or more producers on single or multiple productions.
Thomas Boby
Post-Production Supervisor
Thomas has extensive knowledge of professional Digital Film Editing and an understanding of sound design. His background and in-depth knowledge extend to Visual and Special Effects with a practical imagination for visual storytelling.

Software knowledge includes After Effects, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Media Composer, Davinci Resolve, Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender & Nuke. A highly motivated individual with a strong passion for filmmaking.
